BANGOR—United Way of Eastern Maine (UWEM) held its annual Campaign Finale on Wednesday, Feb. 6 for 200 guests at Darling’s Ford in Bangor. The Finale is a staple event for the organization in recognizing the contributions of volunteers and workplace donors in the success of their fundraising.
Shirar Patterson, president & CEO of the organization, says that they are on target to reach their goal of raising $1.85M for the community.
The evening’s theme was “Carnivals” and included games, cotton candy and popcorn, along with carnival-style heavy hors d’oeuvres prepared and donated by Hollywood Casino.
This year, over 20 organizations received awards celebrating their commitment to the United Way campaign, including CES, Inc. and Sutherland Weston as Platinum Award Winners. Johanna Dorr of Seabord Federal Credit Union was awarded the Employee Campaign Manager of the Year for her dedication to her workplace campaign. Long time board member Jose Flores was recognized with the Board Chair’s award for his ongoing commitment to the community and United Way’s mission.
