Differing responses to atrocities in a mosque and a church show western leaders view them through a lens of political correctness

It took four days for Leo Varadkar to finally react to the terrible slaughters that took place in Sri Lanka last weekend. When the New Zealand massacre happened last month, the taoiseach’s reaction was instant. Why the difference?

Fianna Fail leader Micheál Martin tweeted in reaction to the New Zealand killings right away. He has tweeted nothing about Sri Lanka that I can find.

The sole targets of the mass murder in New Zealand were Muslims. The main targets of the killings in Sri Lanka were Christians, who were blown to bits as they worshipped on Easter Sunday, the holiest day on the Christian calendar.

Why the different reactions? It cannot be that a Muslim life is worth more than a Christian life or vice…
