While fans cheered for their respective teams during the ICC World Cup 2019 India versus Pakistan match in Manchester on Sunday, a Canadian couple kept the spirit of cricket alive. An image of the couple wearing custom made jerseys at the stands – in support of both India as well as Pakistan – is being circulated on social media as netizens are thoroughly impressed.
One half of their T-shirt was an Indian jersey, while the other half of a Pakistani jersey was stitched with it to form an outfit that represented both nations. Their picture was shared on Twitter by London-based Lakshmi Kaul, who wrote in her caption that the man is from Pakistan while his wife belonged to India.
So as to celebrate cricket and not anything else, this couple exhibited the true essence of the game:
Spotted this couple at the #IndiaVsPakistan @cricketworldcup game and was intrigued by their jerseys! Husband is from Pakistan, wife from India so both stitched up India-Pak jerseys & wore them! Both are Canadians, watching the game in England, rooting for peace #SpiritofCricket pic.twitter.com/KrUjtkjFMn

The Canadian couple, thus, managed to acquire a legit fan base across Twitter as their picture went viral within hours of being shared online. Lakshmi Kaul’s picture has over 2,500 retweets and around 13,305 likes as we write this.
As for the couple “rooting for peace” with their outfits is concerned, Twitter is in full agreement with the fact:
I think it shows incredible compromise

Exactly it’s just a game all we need is thorough enjoyment no hate no taunts no inflammatory sounds.

But this one is…no words!
Would have been better to have a thin strip of England jersey in between https://t.co/niXQ8ANi7x
