(WCJB)– It’s not the North Pole, but santa’s helpers stopped by north central Florida to help put a smile on a child’s face on Christmas day.
The Partnership for Strong Families hosts its annual “Wish Upon A Star” holiday toy drive.
Every child in their care within 13 counties was asked to write down three gifts they would like to receive.
The organization had more than 100 donors to at least fulfill 2 of the three wishes.
“Wish Upon A Star gives the community the ability to make sure these children are remembered during Christmas and that they’re receiving something that’s specific to them,” said Patty Carroll, Director of Community Relations and Recruitment.
Members of the Alachua County Child Abuse Prevention Task Force volunteered to wrap the gifts.
Partnership for Strong Families is looking for more volunteers to help pack the remaining gifts until Dec. 20.
