Back in November, Xiaomi launched the Mi CC9 Pro in China and the Mi Note 10 series in Europe. What raised eyebrows all around the world was that this phone had a penta camera setup at the back that promises heaven for shutterbugs. What was even more exciting is when Xiaomi India changed its Twitter name to ‘108MP is coming’ soon, which hinted that the Mi Note 10 might eventually end up coming to the Indian shores. The question is when?
Initially, it seemed that Xiaomi could launch the Mi Note 10 in India by December 2019, possibly around the same time as the Realme X2 launch. However, December went by and it now seems that Xiaomi may launch the Mi Note 10 in India in January. Why? Because January might see a couple of new phones launch with the 108-megapixel camera and Xiaomi could be among the first ones to launch it in India. Chances are that the Mi Note 10 could spark off a new series of premium camera-oriented smartphones in India.
Moreover, Xiaomi has already launched the Mi Note 10 in Indonesia and India only remains one of the biggest markets not to get this premium Xiaomi phone. Hence, the Mi Note 10 could end up in India soon and it could give a tough fight to the likes of Google’s Pixel 3A and OnePlus 7T.
What makes the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 unique?
The Mi Note 10 stands out for its Penta-camera setup. Not many phones have five cameras at the back but Xiaomi offers it on the Mi Note 10 and it is almost like a Swiss-army knife for shutterbugs.
The Mi Note 10 flaunts a 108-megapixel camera with a 1/1.33-inch ISOCELL HMX sensor from Samsung for its main unit. This is accompanied by a 12-megapixel portrait camera with 2x optical zoom, a 5-megapixel telephoto camera with 10x hybrid zoom, another 20-megapixel wide-angle camera with a 117-degrees field of view and a 2-megapixel macro camera (Phew!). A 32-megapixel camera sits at the front for dealing with selfies.
With such a versatile camera setup, the Mi Note 10 should be a favourite for shutterbugs. While we are yet to get our hands on it, DxOMark awarded the Mi Note 10 Pro (that comes with 8P lens) got a score of 121, beating all 2019 flagship camera phones.
What else does the Mi Note 10 has to offer?
Apart from the cameras, the Mi Note 10 is a premium offering from Xiaomi with the best features from the company. For its display, the Mi Note 10 uses a 6.47-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with curved edges and a small dot drop notch on the top for housing the selfie camera. It also gets an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric verification.
Xiaomi has given the Mi Note 10 a Snapdragon 730G chipset that’s paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. It runs on MIUI 11 based on Android 9 Pie out-of-the box. The phone thrives on a massive 5260mAh battery with a 30W fast charger present in the box.
The Mi Note 10 can be had in three colour variants- Midnight Black, Aurora Green and Glacier White.
