NEW DELHI: The Indian embassy in Beijing on Thursday took strong objection to a Pakistan envoy’s remarks on Jammu & Kashmir in an interview to a Chinese newspaper.
In a sharp rebuttal, the embassy said that the neighbouring country has chosen to “repeat its lies” on the Valley, which is an integral part of India.
The Indian embassy further said that the affairs of the Union territory are India’s “internal affairs” where any other country has no locus standi.
In an interview with ‘Global Times‘, Pakistani ambassador to China Moin ul Haque urged the global community to take necessary actions to ease the “suffering of Kashmiri people”, a year after India abolished the special status of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370.

Reacting to the remarks, the India embassy said that ambassador Haque’s misrepresentation, while not surprising, cannot conceal the significant progress that J&K has made in the year following the abrogation of Article 370.
It further said, “India’s concerted efforts to bring peace, stability and progress to J&K stand in stark contrast to Pakistan’s strategy, which is little more than a blatant and rapacious campaign of cross-border terrorism aimed at debilitating the region.
