04/19/2021 Indonesia (International Christian Concern) – The Special Anti-Terror Squad (Densus 88), together with the South Sulawesi Regional Police, arrested a man in Maros Regency, South Sulawesi today. He is one of the suspects involved in the recent church bombing in Makassar.

The man, 58, identified with the initials N, is an employee of a State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN). His arrest increased the total number of terrorist suspects nabbed in connection with the Makassar church bombing to 33 people.

Although the Head of Public Relations at the South Sulawesi Regional Police has not been able to explain the role of N in the suicide bombing at the Makassar Cathedral Church on March 28, the apparatus believes that the BUMN employee has a close connection with the terrorist attack.

On Palm Sunday, two attackers who were newlyweds tried to enter Makassar Cathedral Church but were stopped at the gate. They detonated the pressure-cooker bombs, killing themselves and causing injuries to more than 20 people. Indonesian police’s investigation reveals that they were members of the IS-linked terrorist group Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD).
